2012 USS Tarawa LHA-1 Bowling Championship

Congratulations to all 2012 bowling contestants. We had a great field of bowlers and a great field of supporters in the stands cheering on all the bowlers. (The food and drinks were good, too!) What great sportsmanship and fun! Listed below are the Gold, Silver, and Bronze metal winners in the Men's and Women's Bowling Tournament. All winners are encouraged to walk around Sam's Town wearing their metals at the 2014 reunion. As Dizzy Dean said, "It ain't bragging if you can do it!"

As you know, Bowling Commissioners, Charlie and Bonnie Petrach, made the decision you cannot use your personal bowling ball or shoes for the 2014 tournament. They want to keep an even playing field, as possible, for all contestants. However, I just got a email from Tony Rylow. He told me he WILL be wearing his lucky bowling shirt when he defends his championship at our next reunion! Several of you emailed me telling me you are going to join bowling leagues. Tony, watch out! Dennis O'Keefe emailed me and said, "I will wear it proudly and looking forward to an upgrade next time!!!!!"

The 2012 Gold, Silver and Bronze metals will be mailed out soon to all of the winners. It is requested they send in a picture of themselves wearing it. Stay tuned for some great pictures of the winners!
